Princess Cinema Racecommon Road

Located in the Town End district of Barnsley, South Yorkshire. A conversion of the Princess Hall by architect William Turner, the Princess Picture Palace was opened on 19th December 1910. In 1913 it was taken over by the New Century Pictures circuit. In March 1928 it was taken over by the Denman/Gaumont British Theatres chain. By 1944, it had been re-named Princess Cinema.

It was closed by Circuits Management Association(Rank Organisation) on 29th September 1956. The building was converted into a furniture warehouse for John Blundell Ltd. It was later demolished.
