From the Motion Picture Herald, Oct. 6, 1951: Don Waters … will manage the Starlight drive-in, a unit of the Waters Theatres.

Stan is right. I saw a revival of John Wayne’s “The Alamo” at the Starlite the night before I went into the AF: July 3, 1967, so it was open at least that late.

I can not say for sure when this location closed, but it was probably later than 1964. Cobb Theatres took over the operation of the Waters Drive Ins and their only indoor, the Eastwood Mall in the late 60’s.

In looking at your address on goggle and TOPO is on the other side of the road.

Maybe Chuck at that time, Montevallo Rd. was not there??

It is were the Kmart is at now.
