This opened as Station Cinema on December 14th, 1973 *December 14th, 1973, opened with one screen with 406 seats by Villa Theatres

*1985 owner: Famous Players

*1988 owner: Ontario Theatre Group

*April 10th, 1989, closed

*June 9th, 1989, reopens with five screens

*July 4th, 1997, 7 screens

*January: 1999 closed, five screens were reused for the new Galaxy

*June 7th, 2000, reopens as Galaxy Cinemas @ Station Square. Every household in town got a VHS tape with previews of movies playing here.

*2014 downsized to seven screens

*2015 became the last cinema in the bi-national area after the Carmike Cinemas closed on the other side of the border.

The theatre opened on June 9, 2000. Its opening movies include Gone in 60 Seconds (on two screens), Mission Impossible 2 (on two screens), Dinosaur, Battlefield Earth, The Road to El Dorado, Small Time Crooks, Center Stage, Big Momma’s House, Shanghai Noon, and Road Trip.

Downsizing was done to accommodate the building of an H & M store. Regarded as win win since theater officials said they overbuilt in the first place.

This theatre should get some more clients. The theatre on the American side closed down.
