The Crown Theatre was open in 1945 with seating listed at 252. The theatre closed in th mid-1950’s. This was listed at a Negro theatre. I don’t know what to make of this downtown area, the buildings are either all burned out, partially demolished, fully demolished, roofs falling in or all boarded up. Maybe 6 or 7 actual businesses along Main Street still operational. The theatre is still standing but I couldn’t tell what it looked like on the other side of the front of the building.

I assume this is NOT the downtown made famous by Petula Clark.
