Lewis was one of the last employees to ever work at the Plaza. I have seen other poppers like this one but very very rarely. Sadly the popper was donated to the fire department to give the kids something to munch on while learning safety and was left on without oil or corn in it and burnt up. Anyone who ever worked at the theater knows how much fun it was to get burnt by the kettle. I for one remember the endless hours of fun I had cleaning it and removing years of hidden oil build-up. That’s where the flavor comes from.
