The Wehrle Drive-In was opened on April 2, 1955, when it was operated by Sarke Stephen, of Staphen Amusement Co. Buffalo, NY. At that time it had a capacity for 700 cars, and was listed as being located in Lancaster.

By 1975 it had a capacity for 800 cars. Local bands were known to have played here. The Wehrle Drive-In was closed in 1986.
