The local shopper paper that came in the post today has an ad from them saying theyare now opening and running the movie Zookeeper- whihc starts today.

A few months back they had an ad saying they were looking for people to sponsor seats. I was not sure what had happened to them until that point. They are about 30 miles from me and I am at the northern end of the area the paper services, they are at the southern end. Their ads stopped last summer adn were replaced by ones for a theatre another 30 miles further south for awhile.

Gald to see they are back open. I used to go there a couple fo times a year when they were open.

Lost Memory and KenMc are definately two different people. Lost Memory is doing well and has found other forms of entertainment to keep himself busy. He at present has no plans on returning to CT. In the past LM was the largest contributor to CT and is a serious loss to the site. After several discussion with LM I can see his point of view and why he left the site. He is a great person and was very devoted to theatre research and gladly shared his finds and facts with the members of CT. He was soncistantly there with advice and help for others in their research. He is truly missed.

Ron: I really doubt that these 2 members are or were the same person! I know Lost isn’t posting anymore and say for sure about Ken Mc.

A couple years ago on one of the pages here in CT someone stated that Lost Memory and Ken McC, both prolific contributors, were the same person! If Lost is no longer posting, how about Ken?

I am grieved to hear that, Patsy; his contributions to this site have always been valuable. It saddens me to see people being needlessly personally attacked or made to feel humiliated on this site – of all places. My email is golgafrinchan48 at att (dot) net.

Larry & CWalczak: I see that neither of you have provided your email addresses on your profile pages so sadly I must tell you that Lost Memory is no longer an active CT member due to a few CT members that continued to give him grief for whatever reasons. I doubt that he will return to CT any time soon, if ever. That is a shame as he was a valued member with wonderful almost daily contributions to this site.

Lost Memory is still listed as a member, but apparently has not posted since November of 2009; I hope he is OK and his absence is temporary.

Chuck: I wondered about the word “country” vs “county”! None the less, I hope that the Palace is able to make their roof remains and get back to normal operations soon!

OOOPS, guess I mispelled county.

Peoria is the largest city in the country? Who would have guessed? 8-)

Patsy, Elmwood is in Peoria County, Il. Peoria being the largest city in the country. Elmwood is a small town with a population of 1,945 in the last census.

Chuck: I agree, but in the meantime I thought an email of concern would show our support during their time of upheaval.

Patsy, I am surprised that their website is still up. It says that they are playing Letters to Juliet. I thought maybe someone would have made an announcement in that section as to the extent of the damage and what is ahead for the theatre in the future.

I just send the Palace Theatre an email that reads:

“All of us on the theatre internet site, Cinema Treasures wishes the historical Palace Theatre the very best after being damaged from a recent tornado on June 5, 2010.”

Though Lost Memory is no longer a CT member, I wish to thank him for the photos he posted in 2008 of this theatre with a now damaged roof. I wish the Palace well and hope that it is able to reopen in the very near future!

I hope the roof can be easily repaired though the article said that a 30 foot hole had been ripped in the roof of this original rare single screen cinema that is “one of the gems of charming downtown Elmwood”. If anyone lives in or near Elmwood, please let us know.

CWalczak: I heard on the radio about a movie theater being damaged by a recent tornado, but wasn’t sure where it was located until I googled an article and it mentioned the town being 30 miles west of Peoria so I figured the theatre was in Illinois. I then found it listed on CT which led me to your post with article. Thanks for posting.
