1st Walnut Creek Theatre the Ramona

The Ramona Theatre was opened as a silent movie theatre on March 6, 1920. It had converted to ‘talkies’ by 1931. By 1935 it had been renamed Walnut Creek Theatre. It was closed for several years in the early-1940’s. The theatre was reopened around 1947 and reverted back to the name Ramona Theatre screening mainly westerns. It was closed by 1953 and was demolished in the late-1950’s.

This timeline from the Walnut Creek Historical Society says that the Ramona Theatre opened on March 6, 1920.
