Situated within Scunthorpe Central Library on the site of the old Empire Theatre was the film theatre wich seated just 253. It was a B.F.I Regional Theatre with both 35mm and 16mm projection facilities. It was later renamed Scunthorpe Screen and continued showing movies right up until early-2000’s when it closed. It is now The Base Youth Centre where the screen and seating area still remains to this day.
