Palace Picture House

Located in Shepshed, near Loughborough, Leicestershire. The Picture House was built and opened on 27th October 1913. By 1925 it had been re-named Palace Picture House. Around 1929 it was equipped with a British Thomas-Houston(BTH) sound system. In the mid-1930’s the façade was given a simple Art Deco style makeover.

The Palace Picture House was closed in the mid-1970’s. It stood empty and unused for years, then was converted into squash courts. It had a short run as a bingo club, then became Ricardo’s Sports Club by 2000. In recent years it has operated as the Parkside Sports & Social Club.
