Raymar Cinema

Located in West Malling, which is to the west of Maidstone, Kent. Originally a this wooden building was erected as the Badminton Hall, and was used for that game, plus as a public hall.

In 1951 Ray & Mary Halkes moved from Dover to West Malling, and converted the Badminton Hall into the 240-seat Badminton Cinema, which opened in January 1952.

In 1955, it was re-named Raymar Cinema after their first names. The Halkes retired in 1987 and they closed the Raymar Cinema. It was demolished and housing was built on the site, one of them occupied by the previous cinemas owners.
