Conway Drive-In

The Drive-In opened in late-1949 I believe. In 1950 it was advertised as the Conway Drive-In. It opened with a car capacity of 160 cars by H. V. Hewitt from Tabor City, NC. At the time of its’ opening, it used blast speakers which were mounted on the screen tower. In 1951, the speaker system was switched over to in-a-car-speakers. In 1956, it was operated by Queen City Booking Service from Charlotte, N.C. The theater closed by 1959.
