Camden Electric Theatre, Tunbridge Wells

An adaptation of the existing Camden Hall, which first showed films in 1909. As the Camden Electric Theatre it opened on the 12th October 1910 as the Spa town’s first cinema. The proprietor was F.E. Bellamy but the hall was managed by Shipman and Wells (not King!) from 1921 until closure in 1925.

It became a Home and Colonial Stores. The building survived into the mid-1960’s when it was demolished.
