The Boling Theatre was opened prior to 1941. Around 1942 it was renamed Roxy Theatre and was operated by the Long Theaters chain. They were still the operators in 1952. In the mid-1950’s it was independently operated. Page 162 in the book “Wharton County Pictorial History” by the Wharton County Historical Society shows a photo of this theatre that was taken about 1942.
