Located in the Daubhill district in the southwest of Bolton. The Daubhill Skating Rink was converted into the Rumworth Electric Theatre in early-1912. It had some earlier use showing films when it operated as a skating rink. The seating capacity at opening was 1,900, and the screen was located on one of the long walls of the building, which gave very distorted views of the screen from the seats on the ends of the rows.

It was modernised in 1929 and a Western Electric(WE) sound system was installed. It then became the Majectic Cinema with a reduced seating capacity for 1,600.

The Majestic Cinema was closed in 1957.

The Majestic was located opposite Prescott Street, demolished now I’m afraid, though the business Majestic Self Drive gives reference to the former cinema.
