According to the Salem Weekly, this cinema was originally opened at the Pringle Parkade by Judith Schoap in 1982 and was purchased by Loretta Miles in 1990. Under the name Salem Cinema, it screened art, foreign and independent films. After Loretta Miles opened a new Salem Cinema in 2009, at a different location, it became know as the High Street Cinema.
In December of 2013 Level B opened as a movie theater, concert, stand-up comedy club, and pub, still operated by Loretta Miles. As an example of the cinema’s programming, in August of 2014 they presented a live-music soundtrack to accompany Federico Fellini’s ‘"8½".

Made one trip here on 2010 for Grease. They were mostly running retro films on a semi-regular basis. I think the seating is no more than 100, but sine they have added live music, maybe some seating has been removed. It is a definite hole in the wall cinema, and not easy to spot from the street driving by.
