The Gaiety Cinema was situated in the south Cape Town suburb, Wynberg on the corner of Main Road and Wellington Road. It was opened by African Theatres in the late-1920’s. The cinema was equipped for sound film reproduction in 1930. This cinema closed in the late-1960’s and the building then housed a supermarket.
The building still stands and is now used as retail clothing store.
