The Rex Cinema was opened in the 1920’s. It had a 20 feet wide proscenium and was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system in 1930. It ran mainly second run to the towns' Regal Cinema (also operated by the same owners), playing many westerns and ‘B’ movies.
The Rex Cinema was still open in 1954, but was closed soon after.
