The destruction of the short-lived Pier in the North Bay in 1915, did not prevent a new theatre opening at the pier head on 15th July. A previous hall had existed at the the seaward end used for varieties. The new hall, seating 400, presented the Premier Pierrot Operatic and Variety Concert Party during the season and “Animated Pictures” out of season, with Sacred Concerts on Sundays.

It continued in 1906 and 1907 but seems to have folded in 1908.

In 1914 the council applied to borrow the equivalent of £109,000 for the purchase and demolition of the Pier Theatre and associated buildings, describing them as being in a delapidated condition and an eyesore.
