Agree with the above comment, but this theater was barely breaking even as per management telling me several years back. This was an excellent theater with well proportioned auditoriums. It was built when expansion of the former nearby Hawthorne multiplex was nixed by town government.

Not what we needed in the area is another supermarket especially a ShopRite. The area needs another movie theater.

I drove by today, the theater is half demolished and will be totally gone in a few days. A ShopRite supermarket will be built on the site.

You think thats sad. The multiplex they opened in Newark NJ had 12 screens and only lasted 15 years. It was built on land that was their 3 screen drive in.

Only 20 years of operation! How sad.

This theater is closing next year as per media reports…they are not renewing their lease.

Mark P, This is a nice little multiplex, and although the seat counts are small, all auditoriums are very wide and feel spacious with very wide screens.

Small Theatres. At the Amboys Multiplex where I worked for 21 years, we had theatres that seated 265 each AFTER they were split in half. How times have changed.
