The Queens Hall [Lecture Hall] Burley in Wharfedale in September 2012

Located in Burley in Wharfedale, West Yorkshire, 3 miles east of Ilkley. The Lecture Hall had been built in 1868 by local mill owners. Films were shown here from about 1912. A cinema license was issued by West Riding County Council to a Mr. J. Mason Thomas and renewed annually from 1913 to 1926, although for the last few years the named licensee was W. Fison & Co.

Now renamed the Queens Hall, the building is used as a local authority recreation building; it is Grade II Listed. The hall measures 54ft by 36ft and the stage is 26ft by 10ft.
