Capitol was on the corner on the same block as the Chief. The Orpheum was down the next block. I was a projectionist at the Chief during the late 70’s with Mann Theatres..

It was at 151 S Main (also shown in some directories at 147 S Main) … but it was NOT next to the Chief. The Chief was on N Main. The parking lot shown in the photo above is where the Orpheum was. The building to the left (south) was a theater too. It was, for many years during the 1970’s and 80’s, Steven’s Stationers where I worked while going to college. I believe it was the Capitol Theater.

I’m a little confused by the description above so I will phrase this comment this way: “An Orpheum Theater in Pocatello, Idaho” had a Wurlitzer theater organ Opus 90 Style 3 installed on 6/5/1916. I believe the above description has this theater as the Crown theater in 1916 and then it was known as the Orpheum in 1917. That timeline doesn’t match the organ listing.

I thought the address for the Orpheum II/Crown was 151 S. Main St. It was located next door to the Chief. I think the original Orpheum was located at 250 W. Center. The Orpheum was operated by Carrothers & Archibald and in 1940 Fox Intermountain Theatres took over operations.
