The Mimbres Drive-In was located on the east side of Deming. It was opened on October 10, 1951 when it was operated by R.I. Payne of Frontier Theatres of Dallas, TX.

By 1966 it was owned and operated by Dollison, and managed to reach 1984, but at some point afterwards was closed and torn down.

Today, an RV park sits on the property with no sign of the old drive-in left.

If the Mimbres stayed active till 1984, it probably didn’t make 1985. A note in the July 20, 1986 Albuquerque Journal: “A sign of a different sort has appeared at the drive-in theater in Deming, and it’s not on the marquee. Spread along one wall are the words "Gone With the Wind.” The place has been closed for years."

Launched October 10, 1951. The screen was removed in 1986 and the remaining tower was toppled in February 1987.
