Northbridge is a small suburb on Sydney’s lower north shore, population 6,000. Features include a famous Gothic suspension bridge and access to Middle Harbour. There are classic waterfront houses and a sailing club and marina. Opened on June 9th. 1928, the Northbridge Theatre was built and owned by Oscar Sharp. It was taken over by Oscar Shaft in 1936.

It was a excellent family theatre running double bills with special attention to Disney films. It came to an end in 1959 after Oscar sold the property and the building was demolished.

A local newspaper article revealed that the dress circle was not only off limits for kids but had double width love seats at the ends of each row.
