Located in Ratby, to the west of Leicester. The Ratby Cinema was opened in 1926. It was built up a slope away from the road and had gardens in front. After opening, a wooden dance hall bas built at the rear of the cinema, which could be accessed from the cinema foyer. The Ratby Cinema was equipped with an Imperial sound system around 1930.

In 1946 it was re-named Majestic Cinema. The dance hall was closed in 1960 and the Majestic Cinema closed in May 1963. It was converted into a bingo club, but this was only a short lived venture. In the early-1970’s it was sold to Kenny Plastics and used as a factory.

The building was destroyed by a fire in the 1980’s and the remains were demolished in 1988. Housing has been built on the site.
