I remember going to see reissue of “7th Voyage of Sinbad” in the mid-70s when I was about 7 years old, c. 1974/75, so still functioning as a cinema then, at least partly. This was my maiden visit to a cinema and first and last visit to the Astoria. Was a full-time bingo hall soon after.

Jayne Anderson and Sarah Kimpson opened the Astoria bar and restaurant in the former cinema on 2 October 2014.
