Regal Cinema

In the south Wales town of Maesteg, West Glamorgan, the Regal Cinema opened in (or had opened by) 1939. It was owned by Glamorgan Cinemas Ltd., had 750 seats, a 20ft deep stage and a proscenium that was 20ft wide. There were occasional variety shows.

By 1980 the cinema was owned by Dunraven Entertainments. the seating capacity had been severely reduced, to 400.

The Regal Cinema closed in 1984.

By the time I visited, in July 2010, the building was home to Hope Church. However, I believe that has since closed.
