Closed in 1981. At the time of its closing, it was owned by C.H. & Katherine Crenshaw-a local couple still living in Balmorhea as of October 2015.

Found it. There is no exact address, but the drive-in is located SW of the town on County Road 322, one block NW of Texas 17. The screen is gone, but you can still see the ramps and the projection booth/concession stand appears to be intact. http://tinyurl.com/gv5zbfl
Looks like that screen had a lot of cables bet that one never blew away in a tornado or hurricane.
As of March 2018, the area of course is more grown up with weeds and cactus. The old ticket booth finally fell down. Can still see some of the old screen tower on the ground. The concession building is still standing, but in bad shape.
An update is that the front part of the property has been cleared and a mobile home has been setup on the property in 2019. The concession building is still there.
