Located in a neighbourhood to the east of Florence city centre, the Portico Cinema is a historic cinema (opening date not known) that has been converted into two screens: the Blue Room (540 seats) and the Green Room (166 seats).
Both have digital projection. The Blue Room is equipped for 3D screenings and has satellite connections for the transmission of live events, concerts, operas and ballets.
The programming is a mix of art-house films as well as the best family film. Preview screenings are often held, with the filmmakers in attendance.

I saw the film “Il successo” with Vittorio Gassman here on August 21, 1969. I believe it might have been shown on the adjacent outdoor screen, if I am not mistaken.
