Cine Paris

Ciné Paris opened on 23rd December 1952 as the most luxurious cinema of Ostend, with watercooled Micron projectors to avoid any fire hazard, air-conditioning, plush seats, carpet flooring and neon decoration. It was Ostend’s first run cinema, but the decline of cinema in the 1970’s forced it’s owners to show more and more erotic movies. The video break through was the end and Ciné Paris closed 2nd January 1987.

The building is now a snooker-hall with the original ceiling with neon lighting still in place.
