The $125,000 neighborhood Davue Theatre launched with a 15-year lease on September 4, 1941 at 2661 Salem Avenue for Mid-States Theaters Inc and owners Maurice White & Nick Shafer. The Theater Division of F&Y Building Services Co. designed the venue. It switched to widescreen CinemaScope for its final three years of operation. The Davue Theatre closed in 1956 and was eventually demolished becoming part of a site on which a hospital was built.
