In the centre of Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, the Cinema Splendor opened in 1915. I gather that, at the time, it was regarded as one of the most beautiful cinemas in all of Italy.
It is not known when it closed. In April 2011 the building was adapted for use as a post office. It is not known what, if anything survives inside; however, the elaborate decoration on the façade has, thankfully, been restored and retained.
