In the centre of Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, the Cinema Metropol was built between 1913 and 1915. It was designed by Gustavo Zagni.
In 1965 architect Vinicio Vecchi oversaw a radical redesign of the interior. Then, between 1991 and 1993 it was sub-divided into two screens.
The cinema is thought to have closed in the early-2000’s. By September 2016, when I visited, the building was home to Tribunale di Modena.
