Sumter Drive-In

The Sumter Drive-In was opened prior to 1955 when it was operated by Charles T. Rook. Now Bevilles Corner Market.

The snackbar and poles still remain, but the screen is long gone.

I’m not sure as I didn’t see anyone there. I wish there would have been someone there as I’d love to know the history of the place. It was seeing this place abandoned back in the early ‘80s that sparked my obsession/passion for drive-ins. I was quite young at the time and could not understand how something that had once been so much fun was just left to rot.
