I found a photo from the theater’s opening – the article is from the Globe-Democrat and is dated February 4, 1923, indicating that the Aubert opened February 8, 1923. I’ll try to post the photo.

Even though ads in the Post-Dispatch ceased in January 1953, the theatre continued running ads in the Globe-Democrat and Argus until March 6, 1953. Last bill noted was “Across the Wide Missouri” and “Fearless Fagan.

In 1924, theatre was known as the Ketchum (name of new owner), but by the end of the year had reverted to Aubert.

Late in 1942 theatre was purchased by Sam Komm. St. Louis Amusement continued to operate as it held a long-term lease.

This tribute to a former judge mentions that he was once the manager of the Aubert. See page 15.

I had some problems mapping this, as it kept putting me in DeSoto, MO. I’m not sure what the problem is.

A Robert-Morton theater organ size 2/6 was installed in the Aubert Theater in 1923.
