The theater was equipped with Dolby surround sound in all auditoriums and Christie projectors. It featured an east and west lobby as five theaters occupied each hallway.

Premiere Cinemas was acquired in October, 1989 by Cinemark Theatres of Dallas. Cinemark announced that the company was going to build a Tinseltown up the road and would be closing this venue after fifteen years of operation.

Cinemark did not close this theatre as orginally announced. Instead, Cinemark closed it’s discount theater across the street at the Richland Mall. (This had been an older General Cinema venue until Cinemark took over the lease in 1990). Springfield Square has become a sub run discount theatre.
