Located in Eastney, an eastern district of Southsea, near Portsmouth, Hampshire. The Easney Electric Theatre was opened on 19th October 1910 with “Honeymoon for Three”, “Out of the Past” and Marrying Mixture". It originally had 650 seats.
After several changes in ownership it was enlarged to 830 seats in 1932 and was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. It was re-named Regal Picture House.
In November 1950 it was taken over by the Newcastle based Essoldo chain and was re-named Essoldo. It was closed in 1963. It has been demolished and shops & house were built on the site.
