The Tower Theatre opened December 2, 1937. According to the Monahans News it was to be operated by Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dollison, but OK Theatres filed a temporary injunction against them. The reason was that when the Dollisons sold the Texas Theatre to OK Theatres in 1935 they agreed not to operate a theatre in Monahans for fifteen years.

To settle the matter Mr. Dollison stated that Mr. Mrs. Ray Baird of Kermit, owners of the building, would operate the theatre instead. In June 1938, M.A. Sanders of Lubbock leased the theatre from the Sanders. By 1947 it was operated by George Duesler of the new Texan Theatre.

The 450-seat Tower Theatre closed in 1956, was remodeled, and became White’s Auto and in 2013 The Jazz Café.
