The Avenue Theatre originally opened as the Good Time Theatre, and it was a small neighborhood movie house in East Baltimore. The theatre opened in 1921 and lasted until 1958.

The Avenue was just a plain and sinple theatre. Nothing architectually notable about it other than it served its neighborhood well.

Formstone has been placed over the front of the building, and it has since been converted into a church. With a close look at the building both from the front and down the sides there is no mistake that it was once the Avenue Theatre.
