The building as it is now

The Grand Cinema opened on 2nd August 1911, had 473 seats, and was operated by Landport Electric Theatres Ltd. It closed on 6th December 1930 deciding not to convert to talkies. It immediately became a Pentecostal church which now operates under the name The Oasis Church. The building has been extended on both sides but the main hall itself still has the original rake of the cinema auditorium floor.
