Located on Exeter Road, adjacent to the Glenorchy United Reform Church. The Kings Picture Theatre was opened prior to 1917. It had a 28ft wide proscenium. By 1923 it was operated by the Olden Brothers. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system and was re-named Grand Cinema by 1937. By 1966 it was operated by the Miles Byrne circuit.
In 1969 it was taken over by Charles Scott and re-named Royal Cinema. It was still open in 1976, but had closed by 1980 and was demolished to build shops & flats on the site.
