The Martin Theatre opened on Friday June 3, 1966. It was located at 215 Loring Street (later 1211 Loring Street) next to the Cullman Shopping Center. The theatre featured Heywood Wakefield chairs, a Vista Vue screen, and tangerine and gold decorations.

The Martin Theatre closed from December 9, 1974 through December 20, 1974 for remodeling and twinning. It reopened on Friday December 20, 1974, as a twin. The Martin Theatre closed in the early part of 1987.

Carmike operated the Martin from 1985 thru its closing.
