St. Margaret’s Hall was located above an auction house. Initially it presented variey shows. West’s Animated Pictures were screened on 26th December 1903. In October 1909 it became a full time cinema, operating as the Electric Picture House from 25th February 1910. It was closed for redecoration in September 1912. It re-opened as the Empire Music Hall, playing films with variety acts as part of the programme. It was closed at the end of 1926 to be demolished to build the Central Picture Theatre on the site.
