This was Ville Platte’s only drive-in. It was located across the street from the Evangeline Club which was a famous dance hall in the 1950’s. The Lark Drive-In was opened on September 26, 1952 with Gene Tieney in “Leave Her to Heaven”. It was operated by the Joy’s Theatres chain. In 1955 it was operated by H.B. Guillory. The screen was destroyed by Hurricane Audrey in June 1957 and the Lark Drive-In was then closed.
