Savoy Theatre

The Majestic Moving Picture Theatre was a long-time venue which opened in the nickelodeon era during 1909. In 1924 it was equipped with a Marr & Colton organ. It converted to sound and under new owners it was renamed Savoy Theatre in 1933. The Savoy Theatre was closed in 1962 and was demolished.

“The Majestic Theatre at 533 Front St; SE Corner of Front and Pine, Catasauqua, PA. William H. Wentz built the theatre in 1909. When Wentz sold the theater in 1933 to William G. Humphries, its name was changed to the Savoy. The theater closed in 1962 and was demolished.” (Catty Mart gas station now stands on that corner)
