The Slotnick & Gander Circuit bought Canandaigua Airport land and created a 12-ramp, $200,000 drive-in in 1948. It was the circuit’s 15th outdoor theatre and Rochester architect Michael DeAngelis drew the plans. The theatre launched June 26, 1948 with Anthony Quinn in “Black Gold”. The theatre was closed in 1984. It was demolished and replaced by a contemporary shopping plaza.
