C.D. Peck likely noticed the lack of ventilation in the town’s Electric Theatre and decided to follow a trend in other cities of opening an Airdome Theatre which he did in 1912. The Airdome showed motion pictures at night and was so successful that two shows were offered in the summer months that year and in each of the next two summers.
The Airdome Theatre closed after the 1914 season. But the concept had one more rebirth when the Big Tent Theatre has a one season operation to the west of the F.C. Schaler & Sons store in the summer of 1921.
