Located in Athlone, County Westmeath. Opened as the Shannon Cinema, it was based in the Father Mathew Hall, which was built as a Temperance hall in 1897 and named after Theobald Mathew. It appears in the 1928 edition of the Kine Year Book and was reportedly the first cinema in Athlone. It was run by the Gallagher Brothers and was later equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system.

It was later renamed the Savoy Cinema and is listed in the Kine Year Book until 1948 although the Buildings of Ireland website states that the cinema closed in 1940. The Hall was later given to the town in 1947 and became a Town Hall and also a library which it remained as until 2004. The building was later incorporated into an art gallery.
