This early silent film theatre in Mt. Carmel was opened by Peters and Douglas on July 28, 1909 with three silent films. The Star Theatre closed on December 31, 1915. It was retrofitted for other retail purposes in 1917 becoming the Hadley-Leeds Confectionery.
