Imperial Picture Theatre

Located in Cottingham, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, 5 miles to the west of Hull. The Coliseum Picture Palace was opened on 22nd May 1913. It was designed by architect John Abbot of Hull. In April 1915 it was re-named Regent Cinema. From 1919 to around 1921 it was closed and in use as a factory. In 1924 it re-opened as the Imperial Picture Theatre and was closed in 1928. It was sold to the British Gass & Light Company on 29th July 1929.

The building went into other uses and was still there into the 1970’s. By 2022 the front of the building had been rebuilt, but the auditorium survives, with the building in use as a Savers health & beauty store.
